Dr. Godfrey received her PsyD in Sport & Performance Psychology from the University of the Rockies. Her dissertation was titled The Experience of Aggression in High School Football Players: A Phenomenological Study. She is an active member of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP).
Sport psychology is not like mental health counseling in that it does not always take place in an office. A sport psychologist may work with you in the gym, on the sidelines, during practice, before & after competition, or whenever/wherever else an athlete may need help; including in his or her personal life.
The goal of sport psychology is to help athletes, in any sport, achieve optimal performance. Not only do we work with athletes; we work with parents and coaches as well to create a solid support system and effective team.
Through techniques such as visualization, guided imagery, hypnosis, anger management, and others, we can assist athletes with skills in mental toughness, leadership, goal-setting, and performance enhancement. We help with motivation, focus, injury rehabilitation, choking, performance slumps, and athletic vs. personal life balance too.
Comprehensive assessments begin at $350 and include a comprehensive interview, an observation session, formal assessments as required, and a treatment plan.
